Walter is our River Pet of the Week

Walter is a 15-month-old male terrier mix and he wants you to know a few things about him:

"Oh, hi there! I'm Walter and I am SOOO happy to meet you! I am a young guy who has a total love for life and just being with people. I had a really rough start to life, someone was not very nice to me and I came into MHHS in pretty terrible shape. Luckily with the help of the amazing vet team and a few caring foster homes I have been given a second chance and am ready for a new home! It really does take a village, as they say. I do have a few behavioral challenges that I will need a new home to help me continue to work through, I was so skinny when I came in that a lot of the time I don't like to share my food or treats--now that I finally have them all to myself! I also have been told that I get too excitable and jumpy sometimes, oops! The team at the shelter says that means I need a home without kids. Other animals may be okay but we'd have to meet to see and you'd have to be willing to keep food and treats separate from the others animals all of the time."

Kitten Shower, Saturday, April 8th

Mark your calendar for the cutest event of the season!  Join Mohawk on Saturday, April 8th from 12pm-3pm for this family friendly event to help MHHS get ready for kitten season. Bring an item off of our kitten registry and you will get a door prize.

The afternoon will be filled with a bake sale, raffle AND auction, stuffed animal adoptions, crafts for you AND the future kittens at MHHS, a supply drive and oh! Kittens of course! We even added a few photos of some who might be there...

Note: this is NOT an adoption event. Just like how Baby Showers don't give away babies, we are not giving away kittens. Before 2023 is through, we will care for upwards of 700 kittens. We need your help to make sure they thrive so that they can join your homes when they are ready!
