There has been so much talk about whether the booster shot is necessary to he;p prolongue covid immunity. Two new studies have found that the protection from Pfizer’s Covid vaccine weakens over time – especially in people 65 and older.
Although both studies produced almost identical results, they were conducted independently from one another in Israel and Qatar, according to the New England Journal of Medicine. Both studies conclude that booster shots would be effective in prolonging protection against the virus.
"Strategies to prolong host immunity need to be evaluated in order to protect the population against SARS-CoV-2 and its variants,'' Israeli researchers say.
