Yes today is Pi Day. Ya it's that math thing not the tasty treat. #ripoff :) OK you can still eat pie to celebrate so go for it.
It is also Potato Chip Day invented in none other than our own Saratoga. Something about railroad tycoon Cornelius Vanderbilt complaining about his potatoes being too think and soggy back in 1853. The chef got tired of the complaining so cut them so thin they couldn't be eaten with a fork...the rest is history.
A while ago we found this recipe to make homemade potato chips in the microwave. We'll make them every once in a while. Maybe I'll whip some up this weekend. It takes a while to get them crispy but they are pretty good. Slice them as thin as you can and enjoy!
