When we have meetings here at work there are generally some jobs, snarky comments and they are usually a lot of fun. Turns out that we are doing something right. Who knew? I just read this article in the Wall Street Journal about why it pays off to be funny at work. Hey it's the Wall Street Journal, it's gotta be true right?
It says that joking around makes things memorable and helps people become more creative. The only warning is don't take it too far. Think Michael from The Office...his stuff could easily get you fired.
PS. This is just me talking but you know when they say "there are no bad ideas". Let's be honest. There are bad ideas...it may just be a bad idea to point them out. I guess I'll never be a motivational speaker....or play centerfield for the Chicago Cubs. My prospects are dwindling.
