Wow! Ringling Bros Circus is Closing after 100+Yrs

Wow I didn't expect this.  Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus is closing after over 140 years.  I had heard that they were doing away with the animal acts, which I think was a good thing, but I figured they'd continue on with Cirque Du Soleil type acts, lots of clowns and some crazy bike and motor cycle acts.

I think they needed changes but it's kind of sad that they are closing completely.  I have to admit I can't remember the last time I was at the circus but it's kind of a tradition like the Harlem Globetrotters and whatever on ice.

Across America through the decades, children of all ages delighted in the arrival of the circus, with its retinue of clowns, acrobats and, most especially, elephants. But, bowing to criticism from animal rights groups, the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus announced on March 5, 2015, it will phase out use of their emblematic Indian stars.
