Comments are one thing, but can your clothing deem you racist?
Gucci recently recalled a sweater because some social media users berated the design saying it looked too similar to black face and found it offensive. The sweater, a black turtle neck, includes an opening for your mouth if pulled over your face - not unlike a ski-mask opening - but the red lip design around the opening did not sit well with some.
The fashion giant immediately posted a public apology and removed the item from it's online stores.
To me the sweater is just plain tasteless, but it certainly won't be the last obnoxious high fashion design we see.
Was it racist? Or are we simply living in a society of heightened sensitivity?
