Avoid Being the Obnoxious Sports Parent

We've all seen them...and heard them! You are at your child's game, maybe baseball, maybe basketball, maybe hockey and you hear the heckles and screams from the opponent's bleachers. Crazy kids! Um, no, that is an adult!

On Sunday, my daughter had a basketball game. It was a tight match and many of us were yelling out words of encouragement, but when the visitors got within two in the forth period, all hell seemed to break loose on their bleachers. No joke, a parent, or fan (?) was getting so excited and aggressive, I actually feared for his heart! Hey, don't get me wrong, I am all for enthusiastic viewers, but considering that these were 4th grade girls in a non-league game, I felt it was a tad over the top.

It got me thinking...I wonder if this guy realized how obnoxious he was being? It also made me wonder if I could ever get to that level? So I quickly read up on how to avoid EVER becoming "that guy."
