So, yesterday I shared the absurd new "Build the Wall" toy out this holiday season. Here's another new toy, maybe not quite as absurd, but it is certainly sparking controversy.
Hasbro has released a Millennial (people born between 1981 and 1996) version of Monopoly. The tagline, "Forget Real Estate, You Can't Afford it Anyway!" Instead of real estate, players collect experiences such as sleeping in their parent's basement, dining at a vegan restaurant and attending a music festival. Game pieces include a crying emoji and hashtags, and the Monopoly mascot sports a participation medal and earbuds!
While the concept made this Generation Xer chuckle, many Millennials are shockingly offended!
