I always wondered why we never had a real Christmas tree when I was a kid. After years of asking my mother, it pretty much came down to two things: her fear of fires and cost!
It's true. As an adult, I love having a real Christmas tree, but it can be very expensive! Over the years, my husband and I have started to shop around a little and if my mom was still here, she'd laugh to know that I consider more and more, the purchase of an artificial one (in part due to cost, in part due to clean-up)!
Well, if mom could get over her worry of a blaze, I may have convinced her if I knew that Christmas Eve was the cheapest day to buy a tree...or she would have paid 22% less shopping for a tree the week before the holiday.
Whatever your reason may be for not getting a real tree, if cost is one of them, perhaps this list of the best days to shop for a tree (and the days to avoid the highest priced trees) may be of some help.
