New Breathing Technique Will Put You To Sleep in One Minute

Having trouble getting to sleep at night? Not big into sleep aids or maybe have an allergy? Soon you could be resting easy thanks to a brand new sleep method that says it will have you to sleep in one minute. It's called the 4-7-8 trick.

Here's how it works, according to the Harvard-educated-doctor who created the technique. 

Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound. 

  • Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of four seconds. 
  • Hold your breath for a count of seven seconds. 
  • Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound to a count of eight seconds. 

This is one breath. Now inhale again and repeat the cycle three more times for a total of four breaths.

Sound pretty crazy. 

Though, this method has been endorsed by both yoga and meditation teachers.
