Having trouble getting to sleep at night? Not big into sleep aids or maybe have an allergy? Soon you could be resting easy thanks to a brand new sleep method that says it will have you to sleep in one minute. It's called the 4-7-8 trick.
Here's how it works, according to the Harvard-educated-doctor who created the technique.
Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound.
- Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of four seconds.
- Hold your breath for a count of seven seconds.
- Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound to a count of eight seconds.
This is one breath. Now inhale again and repeat the cycle three more times for a total of four breaths.
Sound pretty crazy.
Though, this method has been endorsed by both yoga and meditation teachers.
