Freihofer's Training Challenge - Week 1

This past Monday was the kick off for this year's Freihofer's 5K Training Challenge!


This is my 5th (WOW!) Training Challenge... time is flying by!!! I remember being thrown into it 4 years ago, and I'm so glad I was! Patrick & Kristen have been a huge help, and actually make running fun! They are our fearless leaders for the Training Challenge.


This week, I ran with the Intermediate Group. What's cool about this program is that you can come and go as you please when it comes to the groups (beginner, intermediate, and advanced). Some weeks, if you're feeling tired, you could go down a group. Other weeks, if you're feeling great, you can go up a group. It's a great concept!


With the Intermediate Group, we ran 5 minutes, then walked 3 minutes. We did this 3 times. Near the end, I was feeling super pumped since it's been awhile since I've ran outside! It's so much easier too when you're with a group... at least for me, I feel WAY more motivated (especially since everyone is so nice AND so supportive!).
