Fans of the Avengers have been waiting for this moment for a decade. Since seeing "Iron Man" in 2008 it has been building towards something HUGE. This weekend that moment has come. "Avengers: Infinity War" officially hits theaters and it is set to break records everywhere. Get your tickets now.
Obviously with a decade of movies you may not be totally caught up with what Marvel has laid out, but I am here to help. This is kind of my thing and I wouldn't steer you wrong. SPOILER BELOW
Thanos - The big bad. He first popped up in the end credits scene of 2012's "Avengers." He's been on a mission and seen periodically in the films since then.
Avengers meet the Guardians - The Avengers have not yet met up the Guardians of the Galaxy. However besides Loki, the Guardians are the only ones who have been directly involved with Thanos. Now the Guardians are heading to earth, and what I can gather from the Infinity War trailers they pick up Thor on the way. Do yourself a favor watch Ragnorok. You'll be happy you did.
Infinity Stones - We learned about the Infinity Stones in Age of Ulton, and mostly in Guardians of the Galaxy. This is the thing Thanos wants. He wants them so he can either rule or destroy the entire universe.
Bearded Cap - Why is Captain America sporting a beard? He went into hiding at the end of Civil War, but told Tony that he's always be there if they needed him. So we haven't seen him since the 2016 movie, and just assume he's been hiding out in or around Wakanda. Same goes for Bucky, aka The Winter Soldier. WATCH WINTER SOLDIER.
IF you want to watch some movies to get you up to speed before seeing everything here's a couple I suggest viewing before seeing the movie - and in this order.
- Captain America: The Winter Soldier
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Captain America: Civil War
- Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
- Thor Ragnarok
Now if time allows, because I know this is a solid amount of homework, squeeze in Avengers: Age of Ultron in between Guardians 1 and Cap Civil War. But it's not the best, so I don't want to make you watch it.
OR save yourself some time and watch this 8 minute video from Looper.
