The state of Massachusetts has a few favorite sons, and many of them come from music world. The New Kids on the Block are some of them.

According to WBZ in Boston, today is officially NKOTB day in Massachusetts. Why? At the height of New Kids mania back in 1989 the state officially declared April 24th the band's official holiday.

From Boston Magazine:

In 1989, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts declared April 24 an original holiday on behalf of Boston’s most cherished group of lads, Danny, Jordan, Joey, Donnie, and Jonathan. Today is the perfect day to salute your time as a teen, or maybe outwardly succumb to accepting that you never really grew up anyway.

So to all of our friends in the great state of Massachusetts, have a great day celebrating the New Kids!
