Official: Game of Thrones Won't Be Back Until 2019

It's officially official. Our worst fears have been confirmed. We will go through 2018 without any "Game of Thrones."

HBO announced today (January 4, 2018) that the eighth and final season of the show will be back in 2019. It will return with six final episodes.

A regular season of "Game of Thrones" has usually been 10 episodes, but the seventh season was only seven episodes. However they have said that each of the six final episodes will be longer than a traditional episode of the show.

And now we wait.
