Shake Shack is set to open its first year-round location in the Capital Region at Stuyvesant Plaza in Guilderland. The popular burger chain announced on Tuesday (April 22) that it will move into the former TGI Friday's building, which closed in 2024 as part of a company-wide downsizing. This new addition follows recent announcements of other new arrivals to Stuyvesant Plaza, including Vineyard Vines, Athleta, Simone’s Kitchen, and Union Hall Supply Co.
Residents of the Capital Region can look forward to enjoying Shake Shack's made-to-order burgers, crispy chicken, crinkle cut fries, frozen custard, and milkshakes. The new location will provide a year-round option, unlike the seasonal spot at Saratoga Race Course.
While the exact opening date has not been revealed, the restaurant is expected to open in late 2025 or early 2026. According to NEWS10 ABC, the opening is highly anticipated by local residents who have long awaited a permanent Shake Shack location in the area.
