Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck reportedly have a "slim" chance of smoothing things over in their relationship.
A source close to the couple known as Bennifer told Page Six that there is a small chance the pair will reconcile amid speculation they are heading for a divorce, despite Lopez still being "smitten" with her husband of two years.
"Nothing can break her spirit," the source said, adding that she is hoping for a summer of "health, happiness and joy" for herself and her family. "She wants to have a summer full of fun and laughter."
The "On the Floor" singer seemingly got started on her summer plans by taking a vacation to Europe with friends last month while her husband remained at home in the states, reportedly moving his things out of the $60 million Los Angeles mansion they share as they prepare to sell it nearly one year after first making the purchase.
The couple recently spent the Fourth of July holiday separately, with Lopez in New York in the Hamptons while Affleck stayed in Los Angeles where he spent time with his three children. A source close to Lopez told People that she seemed "fine" as she spent the day "with family and friends."
Rumors surrounding the state of their marriage have swirled for months, stoked after the Argo director was seen without his wedding ring and after Lopez "liked" a cryptic post about unhealthy relationships. Sources recently claimed that the couple have been "over for months" but that Affleck is "very protective of Jennifer."
