Where In The Capital Region Is This?

We have lived in the Capital Region for over 20 years and there are things we are still discovering. Over the weekend my wife and I went to Peebles Island State Park for the first time. It's in Cohoes maybe 20 minutes from where we live and we had never really heard of it. We grabbed a couple of sub sandwiches and checked it out. We took an easy to do walk around the island. It was maybe two miles. Some great views. Just a few of them are below. It's really pretty and peaceful. There are some pretty high cliffs too so I didn't get too close to the edge. Not really a daredevil that way but got close enough.

We saw a lot of water fowl and 3/4 of a deer. Didn't see it's head and it disappeared into the trees. Not sure where it went because it was just a few feet away. Also saw a really old car deep in the woods. It was the only thing out of place but it was kind of cool too. I felt like I was on American Pickers or something. Not sure how it got to where it was because there was really no way for it to get there. Maybe there was 60 years ago.

Here's the link if you want to find out more. Their picture doesn't do the place justice. The last picture below was just a stump on the way out of the trail. I guess people have just been adding to the rock garden so we did too.
