What 2 Letters Weren't In The Original Alphabet?

I love history and odd facts. Anyone else? This morning I saw this fact that said the English Language originally only had 24 letters! The letters J & U were added later. I never thought about the alphabet being "invented" much less updated. Who decided this stuff?

On top of that let's be honest. We really don't need the letter J. My middle name is James so don't call me a J hater, but think about it. Can't the G get the job done? "Giant"...hello! The U well that one might be trickier. First I thought the A could take on the extra load but then there are words like "University". The Y is doing more than it's share and "Yooniversity" just ain't right...I'm sorry isn't right. We'll let that one slide.

OK go amaze your friends with this amazing fact.
