Mandy Moore's Making a Return to Music

It's been nearly a decade since Mandy Moore released her last album,  Amanda Leigh, but on Friday (July 13), the This Is Us star got fans excited when she shared a clip from the recording studio on Instagram that shows she's been working on new material with Grammy-nominated producer Mike Viola.

"Getting back to it. It’s time. I miss it. I’m not scared anymore," Moore captioned the video, which features the singer belting out some soulful sounding lyrics. "No more excuses. No more allowing someone else's insecurities to dictate my relationship to music and singing. Boom. Also - this is just a little demo of something @themikeviola and I worked on yesterday... but still, it’s a start!"

The 34-year-old broke into pop stardom in 1999, with her breakout debut album So Real. She went on to release five more albums throughout the 2000s before shifting her focus to acting.

Aside from her role on This Is Us, she starred in A Walk to Remember in 2002, voiced Rapunzel in 2010's Tangled and starred in the survival thriller 47 Meters Down.

Though it's been great seeing her onscreen talents, it's exciting to see Moore get back to her roots and record new music.
