Today is National Corn on the Cob Day. I am a fan but I don't like cleaning the corn first. There is always corn silk "hair" that you miss. It also is a lot of work and makes a mess. I heard about this no mess method of cooking and cleaning your corn on the cob with no mess. The first time I tried it I was amazed. It really does work! I have been cooking my corn on the cob this way ever since!
Two things I have to advise. This is going to be really hot so use a pot holder or even better the oven mitt! Also you may have to trim some of the stalk. If the store leaves too much on the end it my be too long to spin in your microwave oven.
Finally I always use a break knife to cut the end off when it's done cooking. Those things will cut through almost anything! I don't think they are very sharp but the serrated edge is perfect for gnawing through a corn cob. Enjoy!
