ABC Cancels 'Roseanne' After Inappropriate Tweet From Roseanne Barr

Roaseanne

Everything that you say and do has a consequence. Now that the internet is as monstrous as it is everything you say on it remains forever no matter how much you apologize. Roseanne Barr has learned that lesson the hard way.

ABC has cancelled her newly revived sitcom, "Roseanne", after she made racist remarks about a former Obama top advisor on Twitter.

She tweeted out a comment about Valarie Jarrett saying "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj."

Barr has now apologized, and deleted that tweet and other followup tweets about the subject.

In the official statement ABC said:

Roseanne’s Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we have decided to cancel her show.

I was a fan of the revived sitcom. Though I wasn't a big supporter of Roseanne's politics, I could out that aside and laugh at the humor of the show. However, this is a step too far and I agree with ABC pulling the plug.

Hopefully now Roseanne learns her lesson.
