Ellen Pompeo isn't allowing a robbery to ruin her vacation.
On Friday (May 25), the Grey's Anatomy favorite revealed on Instagram that there was an incident during her Italian getaway - a thief nearly got away with her clutch when she wasn't looking. "My purse was stolen right from under my nose!!" the 48-year-old captioned an image showing Florence police officials responding to the incident, joking: "I blame the rosé!!" Luckily for both Pompeo and the purse snatcher, who eventually ditched the bag, the actress and Italian law enforcement were able to find her purse using a tracking device on her phone.
"But Grazia to who ever stole it for dropping it on the street exactly in tact,” she continued. "I was tracking my phone and chasing you down... had I caught you... it would not have ended well for you..."
As of yet, the thief has not been found. Fret not, though: the performer reassured fans, with the help of a few emojis and admittedly poor Italian, that the theft was likely captured on camera.
While the incident may have been a small matter for TV’s “20 Million-Dollar Woman,” Pompeo takes pride in how she’s earned her living. No one becomes the richest actress on television overnight and she’s a proud believer in fighting for what she deserves — especially her cash!
