The Schenectady County Department of Health says the water is safe to drink in the town of Rotterdam and the boil-water advisory has been lifted, according to Supervisor Harry Buffardi.

Highway and water department crews are still working to repair a 21” broken valve on Bernard Street and Wallace Street without water until the beginning of the week.

Rotterdam remains under a "state of emergency" though. It’s only able to operate one or two of the town's four water wells. And residents may not use water for things like lawn sprinkling, pools and washing cars. The supervisor says burning of any kind is also prohibited.
