Coeymans Police are trying to find Olaf and hoping vandals or thieves will simply “Let it Go.”

The snowman character from Disney’s “Frozen,” Olaf, is on the smokestack of a decorative locomotive that sat in front of the Ravena public library.

“They are ceramic art pieces,” explained Officer Danielle Crosier. “The town puts them up every year to help beautify the town for the summer months. They go up late spring and we keep them up through the end of August.”

The sculpture is part of the town’s “Friendship Festival,” with similar decorative trains chugging around Coeymans. That festival is Aug. 30 and will be auctioned off to raise money for future festivals. There are 17 decorated trains around the town.

“It’s all Frozen characters painted on the sides,” Crosier said of the locomotive that is 3’ long by about 2’ tall.

Police believe the decorative train was stolen sometime overnight from in front of the Ravena Coeymans Selkirk Public Library on Main Street in the Village of Ravena. Anyone with information is requested to contact the Coeymans Police at (518) 756-2059.
